Message from the Director

Greetings! Welcome to Minot Public Schools Head Start!

Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve eligible children birth to age 5 and pregnant women. The program is child focused and strives to increase school readiness and social competence in our young children and families. Our program provides a range of services in areas of education and early childhood development; medical, dental, and mental health; parent involvement; and family support services.

Head Start is has been operating in Minot since 1968. Our service area includes Ward, Renville, Burke, and Mountrail counties. We have Preschool sites in Minot and on the Minot Air Force Base. In Minot there are Preschool classrooms at the Main Head Start Center. The center on MAFB is located at Dakota Elementary School. Early Head Start serves children and families at the Main Center. Head Start serves 154 children and Early Head Start serves 55 infants, toddlers, and pregnant women.
